Making complex compliance easier to deliver
VanRein Compliance needed a way to take complex compliance assessments and make them easier for clients to complete, without losing the detailed reporting their auditors rely on. I'm Rob Van Buskirk, the co-founder of VanRein Compliance, and we help businesses simplify their compliance needs to secure the future and reduce their risk.
We needed an assessment tool to assist us in performing HIPAA and HITECH assessments here in the United States, and also to help with GDPR assessments, California Consumer Privacy Act assessments, and other assessment needs throughout the world.
We found Brilliant Assessments to be very simple to use and to have a very robust back end to help our clients understand their risk.
What we were looking for was a way to really be able to take a complex assessment, scale it down to what's needed, and have very robust reporting, because our clients just don't know what they don't know. You don't know your risk until you've been assessed.
What we found was that the back-end reporting was so robust, clear, and simple to read that our clients really enjoyed that.
I also like the ability to customize the back-end reports. You can have different types of bars, different types of fonts and colors, and really customize it, because I like things that are customized.
One thing that we've been able to roll out with Brilliant Assessments is the ability for our customers to perform their own self-assessment. This means that they will get a custom link, they'll click on the link and walk themselves through the assessment, and then our auditors will automatically get the report so that they can review it.
It's really helped us add another business line to our business. Our customers are now able to perform their own assessments, so it's created additional revenue streams.
It's been very flexible. The Brilliant Assessments team is really good at triaging the urgencies. They've been great about reaching back out within the business day and asking us how they can help and how they can serve us.

One of the things that we like here at VanRein Compliance is the ability to send out assessments to our customers so they can perform their own assessments. It has allowed us to scale and grow and to use the automation within the tool.
