How are our evidence and assessment data protected?
Brilliant Assessments has undergone an independent SOC 2 Type II audit. Your assessment data, including written responses and uploaded evidence, is encrypted in transit and at rest, with encrypted backups. You control who can access your system and data, and two-factor authentication is enforced for administrators.
When you choose to use AI Interpret, relevant assessment content is sent securely to your selected AI service for analysis. Microsoft Azure OpenAI and Anthropic Claude through Amazon Bedrock do not use your assessment inputs or generated responses to train their foundation models.

What types of evidence can respondents submit?
Respondents can provide written answers, upload supporting documents such as PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets and presentations, and submit images where relevant. You decide which questions require evidence and can provide guidance on what respondents should include.
Can we use our own assessment framework and scoring?
Yes. Build your assessment around your own methodology, requirements, competencies or maturity model. Define the questions, scoring rules, rating scales and feedback criteria, then use these to guide how evidence is evaluated and results are presented.
Do evidence-based assessments have to use AI?
No. Your assessors can evaluate submissions, assign scores and write feedback themselves. You can also use AI Interpret to automate the analysis, or combine AI-generated findings with assessor review. You choose the approach that suits your assessment.
What happens if the evidence is incomplete?
With assessor review configured, your assessors can request clarification or further information from respondents. The assessment can remain open while additional evidence is collected and evaluated, helping your team reach a more informed conclusion.
Can assessors review AI-generated findings before reports are shared?
Yes. When you enable the assessor review workflow, assessors can check AI Interpret outputs, edit feedback, regenerate findings and finalize the results before the completed report is produced. You retain control over the final assessment outcome.

Do we need an API connection or separate AI credits?
No. AI Interpret is built directly into Brilliant Assessments. There's no external AI service to connect, widget to install or separate AI credits to purchase. You configure your AI analysis within the assessment, and the resulting feedback and scores can feed into your reports.
How can we share evidence-based findings?
